Buffalo State College is located right on Elmwood Avenue, in the heart of Buffalo's Museum District. Located across the street are the Albright-Knox Art Gallery and the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society Museum along with Delaware Park. In addition, the newly-constructed Burchfield-Penney Art Center is now open on Buffalo State's campus.
Buffalo State College is also steps away from Elmwood Village, one of Buffalo's most culturally enriched areas. It was ranked one of the "10 Best Neighborhoods in America" by the American Planning Association in 2007. The "Elmwood Strip" reaches from just beyond Buffalo State College to Downtown Buffalo, and offers various dining, shopping, and entertainment experiences for all visitors.
